Meet Renée

Renée Barton is a Landscape Architect, Designer, and Visual Artist based in Halls Head, Mandurah, Western Australia (Bindjareb Boodja). Through her studio, she offers expert services in landscape and environmental planning, architecture, design, and art—working with clients across both public and private sectors.

Qualifications and Memberships

Renée holds a Landscape Architecture degree with honors from the University of Western Australia. She is a Registered Landscape Architect with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) and a professional member of Artsource.

Renée continues to develop herself through further study and training and has qualifications in Playground Safety Training, IAP2 Community Consultation, Project Management, Contract Management, Entrepreneurship and New Business.

Landscape Architecture and Design

For 20 years Renée has worked in Local Government and played a key role in leading delivery of diverse and notable, award-winning public space projects including the Mandurah Waterfront.

She is a strong advocate for inclusive, environmentally and culturally sensitive design. Her approach prioritises biodiversity, ecological health, and community well-being, aiming to strengthen people's connection to place.

Art & Creative Practice

Art is central to Renée’s practice and personal identity. She captures the beauty and fragility of her local landscape through illustrations and mixed media artworks, using both abstract and realistic styles. By combining her design and construction knowledge with creative expertise, she successfully integrates art into infrastructure and built environments through public art commissions and landscape design.
